Handshakes and Interviews

We were treated to two EPIC games between the Giants and the Steelers, with the Giants skating out with 4 points and the Steelers headed back to Yorkshire with a solitary single consolation point from an OT loss on Saturday. Check out the highlights from Giants TV here:

Saturday:

Sunday:

Aside from this, we saw the Steelers coaching staff make a bit of a show of themselves on both nights, leading to some epic online trolling from all corners of the EIHL.

What about this for a reaction from AVFTB and Giants TV’s Simon Kitchen to Tom Barasso refusing to fulfil his media duties!?

NCAA Women’s games a roaring success

What a weekend of hockey in Belfast! Not only the Sheffield games, but the first women’s NCAA games to be played internationally, and what games they were between the Clarkson Golden Knights and the Northeastern Huskies! Check out highlights of both games from Giants TV below:

Panthers sign former Wild Forward, Chris Stewart

meanwhile, in Nottingham, the Panthers looked to have made a startling statement signing, bringing on former Wild forward Chris Stewart.
He must still be warming up to the EIHL though….(add fife tweet here)

Connor McDavid is a magician!?

But he’s getting pasted…

God Dammit….Syd The Kid is actually pretty cool…..

Some players hate being chirped by fans, others ignore it, and some – just some – can be great sports about it, just like (uuugh, it hurts to say his name….you’re welcome Mark) Sydney Crosby, who had the best reaction to being chirped all game long!

He’s not the only one putting smiles on fan’s faces though, as The Wild’s netminder Devan Dubnyk showed too!

They may be PeeWee, but they’ve got big hearts!

A Vancouver PeeWee hockey team have banded together to help their coach – who needs a new liver! Hockey rules!

When John met Ed!

If you missed it a couple weeks ago, John caught up with former Giants Coach Ed Courtenay as he began his travels with Team USA Military All Stars. Listen here:

Gnash stepped it up, screw Gritty!

Gritty drools, Gnash Rulez: its official!

When Beer, Hockey and Live TV Meet.

When these ingredients come together, magic happens!

It’s that time in the show where we want to share a player, a goal or a game that we thought was outstanding this week.

Marty

Game/Goal/Player: Paddy Dwyer

Because, this:

Dave

Game/Goal/Player: He’s not here….but we expect it’s Duby….again

John

Player(s): Yeah – John hates when people bring two stars, but this time he’s doing it himself…two players stood out since the last podcast for him. First off, Kirkcaldy Kestrel’s starting netminder Davy Jackson and Belfast Giants own Paddy Dwyer.

Aaron

Game/Goal/Player: It’s pretty much always Gritty, yeah?!

First off for OT, we discuss the holy relic of Boomerang Corner: Candle McFaull!

Finally, Marty and John preview the Super Final of the Continental Cup, as the Giants will take on foes from the Semi-Final, GKS Katowice from Poland, and new opponents HK Gomel from Belarus and Kazakhs Arlan Kokshetau in a bid to take home the plate.
The games kick off on Friday – be there! We might even make the trek all the way to Door 15 (!?) and join Boomerang Corner- or maybe the unholy trifecta of Boomerang/AVFTB & Door 14 can come together once more, who knows?!

What did you think? Got something you think we missed? Got an opinion on something we already have? What do you make of our predictions for the season?Let us know, we want to hear it!!
