Episode 89 – Becoming a Habit

It’s another week of the dynamic duo Marty and John. This week they look at more changes for the Clan, the EIHL playoffs, GB Under 20s squad before turning their attention across the water to look at a new NHL Iron man, the visiting experience at the mullet arena, and finish off by looking at the reverse retro NHL jerseys. Plus all the usual news bits and features you have come to expect from the Door 14 Hockey Podcast.

League Tables

The EIHL is in full flow now, and the table is starting to take shape.

Period One

Clan Part with Cameron

After a protracted period of upheaval and fan despair, the Glasgow Clan have finally parted ways with beleaguered head coach Malcolm Cameron (cheers erupt from Renfrew).

Playoff Tickets delayed a Day

Today the EIHL announced that there would be a delay to the sale of Playoff Final Weekend tickets, by one day!
We’re in, are you!?

Grubb names GB U20’s for Championships.

The GB player list for the U20’s Championship in Lithuania is out, and there’s a great spread of EIHL minutes being represented. The future is bright!

EIHA Stats Platform still Unavailable

After knowing that their former system was due to end, it’s incredible that to date, their new system is still not in use!

Penalty Box

We discuss two bans since last pod…

Period Two

‘Yotes…feck sake…

The Mullett Arena is ready for the arrival of the Coyotes, but not for the other 31 teams in the NHL it seems…

It’s been quite the journey to get here though.

Canucks Fans in Disgust

Things are not great right now in Vancouver, and the fans are making their feelings clear – not least at the teams’ home opener this week!

“I AM IRON-MAN!”

Phil ‘The Thrill’ Kessel has hit the 990 game mark without a miss and claims the Iron Man title, and is on his way to making history was the first player in NHL history to hit 1000 games uninterrupted. Who said hotdogs weren’t a part of a balanced athletic diet?!

Period Three - (Nockey News)

New Advertising, New Problems

New virtual advertising boards have hit the NHL, but not without issue.

Vancouver Celebrates Diwali

Vancouver celebrated Diwali with some epic warmup jerseys

Goalie Loan Programme Continues

Puck Stop and the EIHA have continued their Goalie Loan programme, and we thought they deserved some kudos for supplying some class pads to kids.

Overtime

Last week the NHL and Adidas launched the 2022/23 Reverse Retro designs for all 32 teams across the league.

Mark wanted to know what our top 5 pick were, and Marty and John give theirs on the pod.

What are your top 5?

We’re thrilled to be back for yet another season of hockey and The Door 14 Hockey Podcast, but just because we’ve been doing it for a while now doesn’t mean we’re faultless!

Is there something we screwed up?

Did we miss something?
