Thousands Raised for Basingstoke Bison Player who broke his back

Aidan Doughty, affectionately known as ‘Doughts’, was playing for Basingstoke Bison against Telford Tigers at Planet Ice at the Leisure Park on Saturday, January 14 when he fell, suffering serious injuries.

Oilers welcome back Evander Kane, down Kraken

The game marked the return of Oilers forward Evander Kane, who came back earlier than expected after a scary injury when he was cut on the wrist by a skate blade Nov. 8 at the Tampa Bay Lightning, causing him to miss 31 games.

Tributes pour in for hockey hero Gino Odjick

Longtime Vancouver Canucks forward Gino Odjick died on Sunday at the age of 52.

His sister, Dina Odjick, posted the news on her Facebook, writing: Our hearts are broken. My brother Gino Odjick has left us for the spirit world.’

Odjick suffered a heart attack, according to a report by the Montreal Gazette. He developed amyloidosis nine years ago, a rare condition that creates protein deposits in the heart.
